Furniture Timbers
We can offer Box/ Ironbark Furniture Timbers,
rough sawn or dressed and cut to your specifications with a kiln dried moisture
content of 10%. The Box/Ironbark species are very dense, strong and durable
once made into furniture will last for hundreds of years. With the box species
in particular each tree has its own slightly different colour and grain
texture, though the same species they are all unique. This enables a craftsman
to build quite unique pieces of furniture that may never be reproduced!
Yellow Gum, Red Box, Red Gum, Yellow Box, Grey Box.
The species we process are:
- Sugar Gum (eucalyptus cladocalyx)
- Red Ironbark (eucalyptus tricarpa)
- Yellow Gum (eucalyptus leucoxylon)
- River Red Gum (eucalyptus camaldulensis)
- Grey Box (eucalyptus microcarpa)
- Yellow Box (eucalyptus melliodora)
- Red Box (eucalyptus polyanthemos)
- Silky Oak (grevillea robusta)
These timbers are available in Feature, Standard and Select grades. In the following sizes: 100mm x 30mm, 150mm x 30mm, 200mm x 30mm and 100mm x 50mm.
- Australian Red Cedar (toona australis)
Available in boards from 150mm to 400mm wide x 20mm to 100mm thick. Also in block form from 100mm x 100mm to 100mm x 300mm.
