A medium sized hardwood of limited availability in western Victoria extending into southern South Australia. Heartwood pale brown ,with yellow or pink tints. Sapwood distinctively paler and to 25mm wide. Texture medium. Grain usually interlocked. Often producing an attractive fiddleback figure. Green Density 1200 kg/m3. Air Dried density about 1010 kg/m3. Due to Yellow Gums density it sands and polishes to a superb finish. Slow to dry but little degrade. Shrinkage about 3% radial,6% tangential.
